Siemens ACUSON Sequoia™ and ACUSON Aspen™
The ACUSON Sequoia (Sequoia) and ACUSON Aspen (Aspen) echocardiology systems provide the most advanced ultrasound imaging for the full range of preclinical applications. The Aspen system can produce VHS or magneto optical (MO) disk output for conversion to CD, while the Sequoia system comes with a built-in CD and DVD drive for storing data on a single disc in DICOM format.

System capabilities include:
Intracardiac Echocardiogram (ICE) The Sequoia and Aspen systems use SwiftLink™catheter connections with four-way steering in two planes: 160-degree imaging in each direction, and longitudinal side-fire imaging. SwiftLink features phased array steering in Vector™ wide-view imaging format, and DTI™ Doppler Tissue Imaging (DTI) Capability. Applications include: identifying Patent Foramen Ovales (PFOs); viewing atrial septums for transseptal crossing; evaluating ventricular wall motion; evaluating aortic, mitral, and tricuspid valve and leaflet function; identifying coronary sinuses for lead and device placement.
Transthoracic Echocardiogram (TTE) The Sequoia system uses a 3V2C transthoracic echocardiography probe with phased array steering in Vector™ wide-view imaging format and user-selectable wideband MultiHertz™ multi frequency imaging. The Aspen system has similar capabilities when used with a V4C, V2, or V7 probe. Applications include: stress echocardiograms; contrast agent studies; viewing various organs such as the kidneys, liver, and spleen.
Transesophageal Echocardiogram (TEE) The Sequoia system uses a V5M transesophageal multi-plane echocardiology probe with phased array steering in Vector™ wide-view imaging format and user-selectable wideband MultiHertz™ imaging. It features DTI and Syngo® Mitral Valve Assessment. The Aspen system has similar capabilities when used with a V705B or V510B probe. Applications include: three-dimensional delineation and mapping of mitral valve structural anatomy and blood flow; evaluation of aortic valve and leaflet function; multi-chamber visualization of the heart and great vessels; identification of PFOs and septal defects.
Vascular Echocardiogram The Sequoia system uses an 8L5 peripheral vascular probe with pulse wave and continuous wave flow, color Doppler, and M-mode. The Aspen system has similar capabilities when used with an L-7 probe. Applications include: peripheral vascular and extracranial vascular imaging; medium-depth arterial and venous studies.
Boston Scientific Galaxy2™ Intravascular
Ultrasound (IVUS)
The Galaxy2 IVUS system offers leading-edge technology with easy operation
and procedural efficiency. It enables users to see inside the heart and
arteries to accurately implant stents and provides 360-degree tomographic
views of the arterial wall.
